GP: How green are your products - what green products/components do you offer?

Simply Color Lab focuses on 100% digital paper prints. Our printing process is 100% inkjet, therefore eliminating the use of chemicals and allowing photographers to receive consistent images from print to print.

We also offer two environmentally friendly fine art papers in Bamboo and Sugar Cane. Bamboo is one of the first digital fine art inkjet papers that are made from Bamboo Fibers. Our Sugar Cane paper combines the high standards of fine art inkjet paper with the responsible use of raw materials.

And, Simply Color Lab’s Total Custom Framing line includes 20 earth friendly, custom made styles. Our Enviro frames (10) are made from 80% recycled materials, including coffee cups and coke bottles, impacting the environment as minimally as possible. Our Wood frames (10) are made from 100% sustainable wood and are lighter than wood frames, reducing the amount of carbon dioxide waste our environment incurs.

GP: Why did you choose to offer green products and implement green business practices?

With the 100% Digital Printing, quite frankly, we wanted to change the way photographers think about paper printing. In doing soon, we implemented a green business practice because its inkjet technology rather than a chemical process and a way to print the same image today as it will tomorrow, in six months or in 60 years.

With the framing, we were looking to offer one of a kind framing options in a variety of unique styles you wouldn’t find anywhere else. The fact that they are also made from 80% recycled materials and 100% sustainable wood is fantastic. The frame moldings exceed quality and are environmentally friendly at the same time.

GP: How has offering green products and implementing green business practices affected your company?

These new products have had a well reception in the photographic community. The 100% digital printing process is producing consistent images with colors that pop. The two papers have fantastic textures to them that create a very unique one-of-a-kind fine art paper print. And, photographers love the new framing options because they are custom made in house, with a 5-7 day turnaround at new, even lower price.
