Goals ~ Year Two
Reflecting on our first year, it is easy to feel good about our accomplishments. But we're inspired by the greener photographic community coming together and have big plans for the future.
Community and Organization Development
- Solicit pro-bono website development services (completed)
- Build and launch a new website with an interactive CMS format and enhanced functionality for members (March 2010)
- Strengthen and expand GP's SEO to make the membership directory work for members (ongoing)
- Finalize GP's non-profit 501(c)3 status so that donations and membership fees are tax-deductible (by December 2010)
- Begin grant writing to find funds for other projects
Member Services
- Create a searchable online Certified Member Directory (April 2010)
- Launch of the online Greener Photography Forum (May 2010)
- Certification of 200 new Greener Photography members (by December 2010)
- Increase GP member benefits by expanding our vendor discounts (by December 2010)
Outreach and Education
- Provide networking opportunity at the WPPI 2010 Mixer event (March 2010)
- Communicate our member needs and preferences to green vendors (ongoing)
- Educate environmental organizations about the value of hiring a greener photographer (ongoing)
- Educate photography vendors about how they can become greener and offer greener products (ongoing)
- Educate photographers on new ways to be greener (ongoing)
- Educate the public about what a greener photographer is, and why hiring a greener photographer is beneficial
- Strengthening relationships with photographic vendors, so that GP may advise them on developing greener products and business practices.
- Engage media journalists and environmental organizations to bring national attention to our movement and our members
- Publish bi-weekly e-newsletters (24 newsletters by December 2010)
- Submit proposals to speak at Imaging USA in 2011 and WPPI in 2011
- Disseminate GP information via social networking avenues, including Facebook and Twitter, on a weekly basis
Research and Information
- Publish bi-monthly articles for Professional Photographers of America's Web Exclusives on-line magazine (six articles by December 2010)
- Develop criteria for impartial reviews of photographic services and products (by July 2010)
- Conduct research and publish reviews of six photographic services/products (by December 2010)
- Expand GP's list of eco-friendly manufacturers, products, and service providers.
- Establish a Greener Photography blog to readily disseminate information and increase SEO
